Unlike most other film meetup groups, the focus of this one is less on Hollywood / major film studio blockbusters and more on intelligent, thought-provoking, alternative cinema - i.e. contemporary and classic world cinema, arthouse, documentaries, independent ('low budget') and short films. Featured screenings (and post-film discussions) take place at a variety of cinemas/venues in and around London. If there is demand, there will also be the opportunity to attend other film-related events, such …
The electric fleapit film club meets once a month to go to the cinema and talk about film. We meet at independent or heritage cinemas to support the smaller cinema industry and to keep heritage cinemas alive. We take it in turns to choose cinemas and films. We meet up before / after the film to discuss the brilliance or the bullshit. We (you) write reviews about the film for www.electricfleapit.com . You can comment and join the discussion if you can’t make the meet-up.
… Key places will be: • theatres - the Almeida, the Arcola, the Red Lion, the King's Head, the Rosemary Branch, the Pleasance, the Hen and Chickens, the Courtyard • cinemas - the Screen on the Green, the Rio, the Barbican, the Hackney Picturehouse, Rich Mix

For: Lovers of Asian cinema, be it retro Kung Fu or latest award winning arthouse or just your average cinema goer who want to know more about Far East Films What we like to do: Gather, talk, drink, watch films, some are pre-release, some are current, some are undiscovered gems, and others might be classics that are worth seeing again. Tell each other about things we discovered or news of films in production worth talking about. Enjoy ourselves!
If you like to watch films but do not have people to watch it with or people who share your taste then you can join this group to find people who like to watch the films that you like and hang out for a bit before or after to talk about it. I have an unlimited pass at Enfield Cineworld, and I would obviously be setting up these meet ups at that location, but you can suggest other locations as well. Its a new group, so sooner we get to a few members, sooner we can schedule an event.

Hello there and welcome to Joyism. Joyism is a simple idea really. It’s all about spreading joy through simple gestures and good deeds focused on the happiness and benefit of others rather than the self. And it’s amazing to do something positive for someone else. Like cleaning up a neighour’s garden, or buying a cinema ticket for a stranger. It is something for everyone can get involved with, and that means you. It is not a new idea. In fact it is very old. Zen Buddhist monks used to do …

Every moment history is being created and this Meetup has been organised for those that don't want to miss it! There is virtually nothing untouched by history and so much of history is related. Maybe like me you're a World War history enthusiast or does the history of the Royals our own and others hold fascination for you? The Grimaldis or Romanovs perhaps? Have you ever been to the Tower of London? Have you been inside Buckingham Palace or Tower Bridge for that matter? Did you know Churchill ha …
… You need to fill the above criteria first and foremost. 8 - This is not about being interested in world issues and always wanting to have intellectual discussions. It is about your way of thin king and seeing things even if the topic is totally unimportant. 9 – This is also not a particular interest group, like Science, computers, Sci-Fi, quizzes etc. It is for all interests. Including unintelligent ones! 10 - You are respectful and don't dislike or look down on people of less intelligence but …

Hola! I'm Rosa... and together with a couple of amigos I have set up this small but growing group after spotting a "gap in the market". Rosa's Friends aims to be, above all, just that: friendly! We hope to attract an international crowd: on the one hand, people, like myself, from "overseas"; together, in hopefully equal numbers, with natives (aka "Brits") with, if not connections of some kind with other cultures, a passion or at the very least a strong interest in the world beyond Dover. Whilst …
